Project Overview
Technical Specifications Tank Details. The system comprises a 40 cubic meter (40m³) pressed steel tank of modular bolted/panel construction, fabricated from hot-dip galvanized pressed steel panels with a typical thickness of 3mm to 5mm depending on course height. The tank has an approximate diameter of 3.5m to 4.0m and a height of 3.5m to 4.0m, designed for elevated water storage with a total system capacity suited for medium-scale community or institutional supply. Tower Details. The tank is supported on a 12-meter high steel lattice/frame tower constructed from structural steel (typically ASTM A36 or equivalent). The tower features a 4-leg or multi-leg braced steel frame configuration and is anchored to a reinforced concrete pad/raft foundation with embedded anchor bolts, ensuring structural stability and resistance to wind and seismic loads at elevation. Foundation Requirements. Foundation design follows proven standards from comparable regional projects, including the Tana Water Works Development Agency installations. The foundation consists of a reinforced concrete raft/pad foundation with a minimum concrete grade of C25/C30 and steel rebar mesh reinforcement as per structural design. A geotechnical survey is required to verify soil bearing capacity prior to construction. The anchor bolt system is embedded into the foundation with precise alignment and leveling to receive the tower legs. Scope of Work — Foundation Preparation. The foundation preparation works include: (1) Site Clearing & Excavation — clearing vegetation and topsoil, excavating to the designed foundation depth, and ensuring a level base; (2) Subgrade Preparation — compacting the subgrade to 95% modified Proctor density and installing a 50mm lean concrete blinding layer where required; (3) Reinforcement Works — cutting, bending, and fixing reinforcement as per structural drawings, and installing anchor bolt templates for the tower legs; (4) Formwork — erecting formwork for the foundation pad and pedestal columns where applicable; (5) Concrete Works — pouring and vibrating concrete to the specified grade, with a minimum curing period of 14 days or as specified by the engineer; and (6) Anchor Bolt Installation — setting anchor bolts to precise alignment and level, and allowing the concrete to achieve its design strength before tower erection commences.
